Biotech Incubator: partnership provides start-ups with commercial platform
Our platform investments are a strategic approach to driving the engines of innovation in Victoria.
An example of this is the Biotech Incubator in the Parkville life sciences district. It gives biotech start-ups access to industry expertise, academic & clinical facilities and infrastructure to commercialise innovations.
This is a $95 million project in partnership with global leaders - CSL, the University of Melbourne and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research.
Sourcing capital through partnerships and co-investments gives us flexibility in our investment pipeline. These connections extend to the innovation ecosystem.
Our unique business model allows us to bring together research institutes, start-ups, businesses, investors and government.
The Biotech incubator will give start ups access to industry expertise and specialised lab and clinical facilities and infrastructure to develop and commercialise their innovations.
It’s a great example of how our unique business model can bring together leading universities, global companies, research institutes, start-ups, businesses, investors and government.
